Situation

'Google Play Games on PC' lets you play Android mobile games on your computer, but most people didn't know it existed

For over two years, every promotion campaign was hardcoded by engineers: one-off code changes for every offer, on every surface, every time. There was no scalable system.

Challenges

One promotion, four surfaces, each with its own constraints

DESIGN PRINCIPLE

Everything flows to the PC client. No matter where users discover the offer, the UX guides them to where it has value.

Approach

One principle, applied across every surface

Result

The system is still running. No more hardcoding

Significant spend generated in week one. High repeat usage across regions. Measurable uplift in cross-platform purchases, including iPhone users. The promotion framework is reusable for any future campaign.
